I started to work trough the first lesson of God knows how many to learn some Thai.
I took a course with NHA, a dutch language shool for around 60 languages it seems, of which one is Thai.
It came well recommended by a dutch fellow I met in Patong Phuket in December who said it worked really well for him and the assistance from their teacher had proven excellent. Well, not being at home at the learning a language - business I took his advice and entered the course. Also because it was also prominently positioned on the www.tHaiportal.nl site, which by the way shows lots of different news from and about Thailand and the Thai.
Working trough the first pages, and listening to the first vocal lessons on the CD's delivered with the course, I get a scare: will I ever be able to manage to learn this language. A real "pfffffff" it will be for a while, I am sure!
I wonder if I understand a bloody thing of it...but well, I get strenght from the announcement in the first lesson that this first lesson is just an introduction and I don't have to learn it by heart...Bless these guys ;-)
All will come back in the lessons following this first introduction.
Well, keep you posted if I change my mind about how difficult Thai is, haha ..... only wondeirng how long that will be :-))
